Purpose:

The committee shall determine young adult and family needs; and provide for events, which can meet these needs.  It shall also be alert to the social concerns and needs within society, studying church, local, state, and national issues as invited to do so, and making recommendations to the Congregation Council and/or congregation as to appropriate responses.

Purpose:

Fellowship shall have as its basic objectives the strengthening of the fellowship between congregational members spiritually and socially: the integration of new members into the life of the congregation; planning and implementation of outreach events in which the large community’s participation is invited; and the general building of mutual cooperation, trust and enjoyment among the members of the congregation.

The Mutual Ministry Team currently consists of 4 members. The purpose of this team is twofold: 

(1)   To encourage and support the paid staff members on behalf of the congregation.

(2)   To direct parties with questions or problems regarding church issues to the appropriate channels for discussion and potential resolutions.  This committee is NOT involved in job evaluations. 

Purpose:

Memorials shall have oversight of memorial gifts and funds.  It shall be responsible for developing and maintaining a suggested list of needs, which can be met through memorials and other gifts.

Purpose:

Concern for teaching, stimulation and promotion of a total Stewardship of life among all members of the parish.  It shall be concerned for the needs of the parish and support of program necessary in the mission of Christ. 

Objective: Develop programs for the growth of good stewardship attitudes in the members of the congregation regarding time, talent, treasures.  To ensure the financial stability of the parish and its missions.

The purpose of the Mission Endowment Fund is to receive gifts from individuals, trusts, grants, bequests or property and then to administer the income from these gifts for religious, educational and charitable programs through St. Johnʼs Lutheran Church.  The principal is preserved and only the interest earned on the fund is expended.

The Mission Endowment Fund Committee typicallymeets quarterly.  Information on the Mission Endowment Fund may be obtained from the church office or by contacting one of the committee members. Giving to the Endowment Fund is a fine way to honor someone, to celebrate a special event, or to memorialize someone.

Purpose:                    

The Building and Grounds Committee shall have the care management and maintenance of all properties of the congregation, serve in a liaison and oversight relationship with the Custodial employees, review maintenance contracts, review needs regarding purchase of new equipment, review insurance coverage for all properties and make recommendations thereon to the Church Council.

Here at St. John’s on the first Sunday of February, we’ll enjoy soup, sandwiches, and light refreshments to start this campaign off with the
right spirit. That of friendship, camaraderie, and community.

At each church location, non-perishable food items and personal hygiene products will be collected throughout the month of February.
Bring your donations with you on your way to worship, or as you drive by St. John’s during office hours. We’ll pile up the food and see how
generous we can be! At the end of the month each congregation will weigh in. Let’s step up to the challenge.This competition has only
winners – the people of Evansville.

At least as much as we like football, we take care of those experiencing lean times. Please be generous as we collect food for our neighbors in
need. Let’s step up for our Evansville friends and score big for our community.

In the months of February and March we’re preparing Personal Care Kits for LWR. Help St. John’s send these vitals kits to
people in underprivileged countries.

The following items are needed for each kit:
• One light or medium weight bath-size towel, dark color recommended
• Two bath-size bar of soap (4-5 oz), any brand, in its original wrapping.
• One adult toothbrush, in original wrapping preferred.
• One comb, wide tooth preferred, remove packaging.
• One metal nail file, or nail clippers with file attached, unwrap package. (no emery boards)
Wrap all these items in the towel, tie securely with ribbons or yarn, and bring them to the LWR table in the fellowship hall. Thanks for extending your hands and resources for the sake of others.
