St. John’s is seeking an office manager to support the ministries of our vibrant congregation. The office manager works with the pastor, staff, and members in overseeing and supporting the day to day activities of our ministries.  The office manager offers hospitality to all and ensures efficient and courteous communication between the congregation, staff, and wider community. The office manager has a wide range of responsibilities, from managing schedules and calendars to preparing all print materials, from coordinating workers to maintaining records and resources. This person is a hub of information and enables the work of the church to run smoothly.

The ideal candidate for this position will possess excellent organizational, clerical, and communication skills. Our office manager must also be attentive to interpersonal relationships and public relations, having gifts of hospitality. The church office is a busy, dynamic place, and this person will prioritize many ongoing projects and tasks. A heart of faith and a strong dedication to the church will enable this staff person to thrive. Likewise a cooperative, consultative style is promoted and embraced in the office environment. The office manager reports to the pastor of St. John’s and serves also as the pastor’s administrative assistant.

This position will be paid on an hourly basis and is expected to be three-quarters part-time. Current office hours are Monday – Thursday, 8:00am – 4:00pm. The hourly pay rate, dependent upon experience, will range from $14-$16 per hour. The position does not offer health insurance but includes paid vacation. Strong personal skills and traits will include attention to detail, organization, verbal and written communication skills, computer skills, compassion, initiative, teamwork, a sense of timeliness, and a positive attitude.

The formal start date will be May 1, 2018. Paid training to become familiarized with the duties of the position may begin sooner, as available.
