A Church Council Representative is appointed for a one year term to maintain the activities of the committee. That representative is not necessarily the chairperson or the person responsible for its activities. <strong>The church membership is welcomed and encouraged to join these committees</strong> so their continued existence has consistent direction and activity to assure the vibrancy of our church life.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class="announcement_post"><p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Personnel Committee</span></p>
<p> 1.  The purpose of the Personnel Committee is to provide oversight review of the paid employees of the congregation, including the pastor(s).</p>
<p> 2.  The Personnel Committee, as an arm of the Council, shall:</p>
<p>A.                  Review matters involving personnel policies</p>
<p>B.                  Recommend various personnel policies</p>
<p>C.                  Conduct at least annual evaluations</p>
<p>D.                  Handle special personnel responsibilities which may arise</p>
<p>E.                  Draft minutes of meetings</p>
<p>F.                  Document personnel matters</p>
<p>G.                 Provide recommendations to the Council dealing with salaries, wages and benefits, hiring, and terminations.</p>
<p> 3.  The Council through the Personnel Committee shall take any necessary action relative to employment including hiring, job description, evaluation, remuneration and termination for all staff including the pastor(s) with the exception of hiring and termination of rostered leaders.</p>
<p> 4.  They shall review at least annually all positions to assess the need for staff assignments, changes, expansion, or reduction. They shall assess at least annually the job performance of the Senior Pastor and all other positions and set the appropriate remuneration for each.</p>
<p> 5.  Membership on the Personnel Committee shall be by appointment of the church council.</p>
<p> 6.  Appointment by the church council shall occur at the regular council meeting in March of each year that the term expires</p>
<p> 7.  The Personnel Committee shall consist of three persons, each for a three year term, except in the initial formation of the committee.  No member shall be re-elected for more than one additional term.</p>
<p> 8.  A member of the Personnel Committee shall not be a member of the Council.</p>
<p> 9.  The chairperson of the Personnel Committee shall:</p>
<p>A.                  Serve as a member of the Council with voice and without vote.</p>
<p>B.                  Serve as a liaison between the staff and the Council.</p>
