Our mission at St. John’s calls us to be good neighbors. Jesus taught his followers to love our neighbors as ourselves. By opening our doors and our arms to our neighbors in Evansville, we hope to show Jesus’ own love for the people of this community.

In this section, you’ll find examples of the many community groups who make use of St. John’s facilities, as well as other community organizations that our congregation directly supports.

We’re delighted to offer this service to our community. If your group would like to meet at St. John’s, please download a Building Usage Form and drop it off at the church office.

Creekside Place (Evansville Senior Center) seeks volunteers

Becky Saterbak, Program Director at Creekside Place is looking for volunteers for their van shuttle and kitchen helper positions. Many of the local churches are already providing volunteers for Meals on Wheels program. We appreciate the volunteer efforts of every single
member that takes time out of their daily schedule to deliver these meals. To be a volunteer is a reward within itself and the people that you help are very appreciative of your time. The Evansville people take care of each other and you can see it all over this city.
Creekside Place is looking for a person that can work on Tuesday morning from 9:45 am. until 12:30 pm. The volunteer would help set-up
lunch, put together the Meals on Wheels lunch trays, serve lunch to the Center participants and then help with clean-up. All this would be under the supervision of our lunch supervisor, Pat Engendorf. We also could use several who could be a substitute helper if someone was out of town or ill.

We are also looking for a driver that would pick up our participants on Monday morning at 10:00 am. and then drop them back off at home at 12:15 pm. Along with that we are looking for a few extra drivers to be on a substitute list if someone was out of town or ill. If you would like more information on volunteering, call me at 882-0407 or e-mail me at becky@creeksideplace.org.
