St. John’s is an inclusive and vibrant congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, whose diversity is reflected in our varying expressions of worship. We worship as a congregation on Saturdays, Sundays, and other festivals of the church year.

Bible Readings in Worship

St. John’s follows the Narrative Lectionary for our Scripture readings each week. The Narrative Lectionary is a four-year cycle of readings. On the Sundays from September through May each year the texts follow the sweep of the biblical story, from Creation through the early Christian church.

The texts show the breadth and variety of voices within Scripture. They invite people to hear the stories of Abraham and Sarah, Moses and the prophets, Jesus, and Paul. Listening to the many different voices within Scripture enriches preaching and the life of faith.

Worship Schedule & Learning Hour

Worship services are regularly held at 5:00 pm on Saturdays and at 9:00 am on Sundays. Join us at St. John’s for worship with inspiring hymns and special music.

Sunday mornings, at 10:15am, is the time each week for pre-schoolers through adults to grow in faith through study and conversation. This is one important way we grow in relationship with the Lord. For your spiritual health, make your family’s participation in this hour a habit.

  • Children age 3 through 5th grade meet for BASIC (Brothers And Sisters In Christ), starting in the sanctuary with a VBS-style opening that includes music, a skit, and Bible story
  • 6th through 8th graders meet in the youth room in the north basement
  • Adults gather in the Fellowship Hall

We celebrate the Lord’s Supper each week.

Children are welcome, and we have a special message for them each week.
